Mission

The mission of the PES Student Board is to build community within PES and offer unique personal and professional development opportunities for students of all identities and backgrounds. The group aims to bring people together to develop genuine connections with one another - and to have fun!

Overview

The PES Student Board was formed as an opportunity for PES students to build community in addition to other services and programs offered by PES (e.g., Summer Seminar, Fall Conference). The Board is open to any and all PES participants as a way to connect, have fun, and increase personal and professional growth opportunities!

The PES Student Board furthers the mission of the PES Program, which is to “ensure timely graduation of its participants by encouraging and supporting academic, career, and personal wellbeing through scholarships, programming, professional advising, and peer mentoring."

The Board will further this mission by creating opportunities for PES students to connect with others and build meaningful relationships during the academic year through various board-led events and activities. Through these, the Board hopes to foster community development both during students’ time at the University, as well as after graduation. The Board also serves in an advisory role to the PES professional staff regarding PES student issues and concerns.
