Spring 2021 Engagement Scholarship Recipient
I interned for a black-owned business as their social media marketer. I was able to be a part of it while still learning and going through the full on internship experience. I got the behind the scenes of working with models, photographers, and other colleagues that managed other things within the business. I am even grateful and thankful enough to have been able to travel to another state to work with other models and to expose the brand.
This scholarship has impacted my engagement activity in a couple different ways. I would say that a major impact was that it helped me pay off the rest of my bill towards the technological devices needed for my social media marketer role. With this I was able to create and provide content that was needed for not only the brand, but the owner and models as well. As many people know, Los Angeles is not a cheap place to live nor travel to. Due to taking time off work, it also supported me with my expenses while my stay in LA. I am beyond grateful to have been able to have this assistance and go through with this experience!
