Summer 2019 Engagement Scholarship Recipient
Before being given this scholarship, I haven’t seen much of Japan outside of Tokyo other than Hiroshima. With receiving this scholarship I have the opportunity to go to Kyoto, explore, and get a feel for more traditional aspects of Japan not represented by Tokyo (which is more famous for its modern structures such as their transit system and Harijuku's Takeshita street). With this opportunity, I’ll be able to travel, see traditional monuments outside of Tokyo, develop my perception of Japan, taste local delicacies, and make the best of my stay in Japan!
