Fall 2019 Engagement Scholarship Recipient
I am so incredibly thankful for the PES engagement scholarship, which helped me achieve my goal of attending the University of Hawaii, Manoa. This has been one of the most impactful experiences of my life. I am learning something new every day about the culture and the history of Hawaii. This opportunity has taken me out of my comfort zone and pushed me to meet new people and try new things. Also, I plan on attending medical school and I have had the opportunity to explore and visit the University of Hawaii Medical School. It has allowed me to explore the medical field in another culture and health care system. Hawaii is in the United States, but I feel like I have more global knowledge due to the diversity of the state’s population. Overall, the PES engagement scholarship has given me one of the best experiences of my life.
