The Emerge Summer STEM Program is a free 3-week summer program for incoming PES students focused on STEM exploration, community building, and academic preparation as they begin their journey at the University of Minnesota. This year's Emerge will take place from July 13 to August 2, 2024.
Emerge is open to all incoming PES students, especially those who are STEM serious and STEM curious. As an Emerge participant, you will:
- Earn 1 elective credit towards your undergraduate degree
- Get $1,500 for satisfactory participation
- Receive mentoring from staff, faculty, and current undergrad and graduate students
- Experience a customized curriculum that includes mathematical thinking and STEM curriculum exploration
- Gain insight into real STEM careers and industries through off-site visits in the Twin Cities metro area
- Get a jump-start on campus life, make friends, and gain early access to campus resources and student support services
- Feel prepared to begin your first year at the University
